FAQ

What time will the session start?

To achieve the dreamiest lighting, all photography sessions will take place during the "golden hour". For the a.m., this typically starts around the sun starts to peak over the horizon. For the evening, it's about an hour to an hour and a half before it sets. *Elopement photography sessions will typically start between 3.5 to 4 hours before sunset.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado and YES I will travel to you! If you are interested in me photographing your story and you live over 35 miles outside the Colorado Springs area, a travel fee will apply.

When will I receive my gallery?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 3 weeks weeks time for standard photoshoots. For Elopement photography, the time can range from 6 to 8 weeks. Once received, you will have the ability to download all of the photos as well as have the convenient option to print beautiful options directly from your gallery.

Do you recommend professional hair and make up?

Yes and YES! It's definitely not necessary but I do strongly encourage professional hair and makeup to elevate your final look. It really does make all the difference! Keep the makeup look warm and natural, avoiding bold, bright colors. To finish the look you can pair with a soft, neutral colored nail polish or no polish.

what should I/we wear?

I'm so glad you asked! This is, in my opinion, the most important question of all. The wardrobe is really what can make or break a session. A beautiful, cohesive wardrobe will elevate your photos from typical to an extraordinary work of art! You will have the option to take a peek through my client closet and we can also collaborate on new looks together.

Styling Tips:
-Earthy/warm/neutral tones photograph beautifully. These colors include: cream, browns, tans, mustard, rust, olive/sage, dusty pink/blush and muted tones.
-Layers are your friend.
-Flowy dresses and skirts photograph beautifully and are highly recommended for the ladies.
-NO MATCHING OUTFITS! Make sure everyone is uniquely dressed to express themselves individually. We want to coordinate outfits without perfectly matching. Also, PLEASE stay away from bright, loud colors like neons. These surprisingly reflect on everyone's skin and ruins the photograph. Also stay away from t-shirts with logos. Stick with henley's, full button down shirts, sweaters and linens.
-If someone wants to wear a pattern, continue to stick with the natural, earthy colors. Also think, for every pattern, there should be three solids to accompany.
-Don't forget the accessories! Hats, scarves, watches, necklaces and bracelets etc.
-Make smart footwear choices. You want the look to finish from head to toe! Avoid tennis shoes for males. Instead, consider boots or "boat" shoes. Same for females. Traditional Mary Janes or boots work best to finish the look.

I know this can be daunting. This is a great investment and if you are willing to open your creative mind, I am happy to assist with coordinating the outfits! It may not be something everyone wears on a typical day but I promise, if you are open minded for the shoot, it will make the final look completely magical.
